for the Biennale

The Biennale de Lyon is introducing a new visual identity, created by Donuts,
a Brussels-based graphic design studio. The execution is a full-fledged ‘brand’, designating both biennales as well as the non-profit body that organises them. Vividly colourful and polymorphic, it bonds the events while highlighting the distinctive character of each.

in September !

Thierry Raspail, artistic director of the Biennale de Lyon, has chosen Victoria Noorthoorn to curate the 11th edition, which will run from 15 September to 31 December 2011 at four venues:
La Sucrière, the Lyon Museum of Contemporary Art, the Bullukian Foundation, and the former TASE factory in the east Lyon suburb of Vaulx-en-Velin. The professional preview is on 13-14 September 2011.

14th edition
a big success

Over 97,000 spectators packed indoor venues, and 300,000 filled the streets to admire Le Défilé parade... The 2010 Dance Biennale played host to 780 artists, attracted more than 1,000 professionals and 216 journalists from around the globe – and ‘set the world dancing’! Guy Darmet’s last festival as artistic director was thus crowned with success. Dominique Hervieu takes over on 1 July 2011.
