For this augmented and site-specific re-creation in the former SNCF maintenance depot — now transformed into Les Grandes Locos — Crowd brings together 18 dancers, each embodying a distinct character and story.
In Crowd, Gisèle Vienne stages a rave with 18 dancers immersed in varied physical and emotional states. Set in a former SNCF facility, the piece celebrates the history of electronic music, especially Detroit techno and Underground Resistance. Vienne’s choreographic style turns the party into an alternative space where bodies move in slow motion, jerks, and hypnotic loops. The performance blurs the line between reality and fiction, transforming the spectator into an active participant in this collective experience.
