The emerging choreographic landscape in africa

The new creative methods of the continent’s artists.

Africa is witnessing the advent of a new generation of artists influenced by their urban practices. Typically self-taught, they train through contact with the new tools generated by digital evolution, whose rules they are appropriating. New practices are arising, driving changes in how work is made and distributed. There is now a new way of creating and showing.

Fresh aesthetics are flowing from these practices, and altering today’s choreographic landscape.

The Institut Français proposes to address this theme in a workshop moderated by Mantchini Traoré.
