Continuing its program of invitations to produce an exhibition in three successive rooms, La Salle de bains invites Cécile Bouffard from September to December 2022.
Entitled Basket Case, the exhibition will not unfold as a scenario but as an attempt to inscribe in a padded space sculptures that remain in successive states of latency. These different proposals will give us the opportunity to see how Cécile Bouffard's works, both in their forms and materials, have the singularity of seeming at the same time organs or familiar beings and objects fashioned to keep us at a distance.
Cécile Bouffard (1987) lives and works in Paris. Her work has recently been the subject of monographic exhibitions at Rond-Point Projects, Marseille, at the gallery Guadalajara 90210, Mexico, and at the Centre d'art contemporain Les Capucins, Embrun. Very involved in collective projects, Cécile Bouffard co-founded the artist-run-space Pauline Perplexe in Arcueil, since 2020 she co-edits the magazine VNOUJE (collective Fusion, with Roxane Maillet and Clara Pacotte) and is part of La Gousse, a lesbian cooking collective (with Barberin Quintin and Roxane Maillet).
