Meeting around the “Ashio affair”
Discussion between photographer Julien Guinand and researcher Cyrian Pitteloud.
Both chose Japan as their object and field of study, and both were interested in the pollution of the Ashio copper mine. They will evoke this historical fact which is considered today as the Fukushima of the Meiji era.
They will talk about their experience on the spot, and will try to bring out the different types of stories associated with it, thus opening and more generally a debate on the question of disaster.
