To resonate with the 16th edition of the Biennale of contemporary art in Lyon, Au46 joins the manifesto with a collective creation In-between, a fragmented and heterogeneous object/symbol in the form of a table. A table acting as a collective fable.

Open Tuesday to Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m

When we think of a table, we think of a social object. It represents a moment of life, of meeting, of exchanges, of food. As a place-object, a table invites everyone to sit around, to meet, to discover each other, and thus to become a group.

This is the start of the story.

We imagine a collective history written by individuals who question and mix their sensitivities to create a resistant and common endeavor. The table is for us a pretext, a scenographic object. It opens up universes, encounters and facilitates the penetration into the space of “the other”.
In reference to Hannah Arendt's metaphor: the public domain is the world that gives human plurality its greatest expression. Thus, we will employ singular, plural, philosophical, poetic, plastic, pictorial and theatrical approaches.

People live and work together, that is to say in the presence of each other fully existing in their individualities. A table brings together those who are seated around it all while distinguishing each person from another. The table, this common everyday object, becomes a conceptual object with blurred contours as soon as it is enhanced by the singularity of each artist through the dialogue between their practice and their tools and materials.

“There is a spirit in the table, that is beyond doubt” Victor Hugo.

Manifest
let our fragilities flow
test our resistance
engage in an experimental process of collective writing
Free ourselves from efficiency and usefulness
Map our vulnerabilities
Enter into relation with the real
risk otherness, preserve subjectivities
bring our materials into dialogue, let ourselves be impacted, seize the unexpected
share everything against and around the communal
touch the breaking point
test the strength of the unclear
crack, repair, mutation
blur boundaries, reveal
feel a collective perception, intensify it
Sit at the table
PS: we are fragile
