What do we give without keeping count? What do we receive in return? Through a series of illustrations blending humor and provocation, Troty explores the invisible exchanges that shape women's lives and the hidden value embedded in our relationships.

Am I ̶w̶o̶r̶t̶h̶y̶ pretty ? invites viewers to confront the invisible forms of exchange that shape our experiences, including our most intimate ones, particularly as women. Between the pursuit of validation, expectations imposed on our bodies, and emotional labor, it becomes difficult to measure the true cost hidden behind our interactions.

The exhibition shifts the reflection on value towards the realm of human relationships. It questions what circulates outside any market logic: attention, care, listening, desire, time, and emotional availability.

Through her illustrations, Troty seeks to challenge the mechanisms that shape heterosexual relationships: a model presented from childhood as the (only) desirable path and a form of fulfilment, yet one that can quickly become a space of disillusionment, violence, and physical and emotional exhaustion.

In contrast, the exhibition also celebrates the forms of solidarity and care that flourish beyond heteronormative models — between women, through friendships, and within chosen communities — proposing another economy:one based on reciprocity, transmission, and mutual support.
