With its impressive network of galleries, museums, cultural institutions and artists’ collectives, Résonance presents exhibitions and events designed around the Biennale’s theme, showcasing the vibrant arts scene in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
Since 2003, the Lyon Biennale has brought together the most dynamic figures from the regional cultural scene for its international event, under the umbrella term Résonance. It thus acts as a platform for events organised by art centres, galleries and cultural institutions in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, as well as those put on by associations or artist collectives wishing to engage with the Biennale’s theme.
Over the years, Résonance has brought together a wide range of venues across the fields of contemporary art, as well as literature, dance, theatre, music and film. The result is a proliferation unique in the world of biennials: from around thirty events in 2003, Résonance has grown to over 250 exhibitions, performances, concerts, screenings and shows by 2022. This momentum demonstrates the growing influence and regional roots of contemporary art in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
Résonance is one of the platforms of the Biennale de Lyon and, as such, benefits from the event’s promotional activities, including the website, press kit, programme and social media.
