A musical one-man show performed by an actor-pianist. Beethoven struggles with deafness, impossible love and the burden of his name. An intimate journey where music becomes an act of resistance.

Beethoven: Van Vs Von portrays a man trying to love in a world that prevents him from doing so. Alone on stage, an actor-pianist retraces Ludwig van Beethoven’s struggles: impossible love, the burden of his name, the fight for the custody of his nephew Karl, and the gradual loss of his hearing.

Blending storytelling and live music, the performance follows a man at war with his time and with himself. The piano becomes both a stage partner and a living memory.

The particle “Van”, revealing his modest origins, acts as an invisible barrier. Beethoven longs for another destiny, a family, and a place in society that remains out of reach.

Driven by some of the composer’s greatest works, this one-man show explores how creation can become a way to resist loneliness and loss.
