The Chain of Oaks accompanies young trees to their permanent planting sites across the Lyon metropolitan area. Carried by bicycle, public transport or on foot, these breathing companions travel without combustion engines. Each transplantation becomes a collective act of care and a moving work of tree art.
After being cultivated, cared for and prepared at Gratte-Terre, the young trees leave the nursery for their permanent planting sites. Residents, volunteers and artists are invited to accompany them on foot, by bicycle or by public transport. More than a transfer, this collective migration proposes another way of caring for trees and transforming the city, turning every journey into a shared artwork.
