Christos Papadopoulos, the Maison de la Danse’s new associate artist, has established himself as one of the most distinctive voices on the choreographic scene. Last season, he presented Mycelium with the Lyon Opera Ballet, a striking piece that was a huge success.
The magic is at work once more with My Fierce Ignorant Step, bringing together ten performers in a creation where breath, rhythm and vibration become the very substance of dance. Inspired by the chorus of Greek tragedy and interwoven with the music of Mikis Theodorakis, this piece transforms the stage into a sensory landscape, where the bodies move together, respond to one another and, building to a crescendo, create a stunning collective force.
True to his signature style—possessed unisons, an organic presence, and precise, hypnotic choreography—Papadopoulos takes us on a journey through a powerful, generous and unforgettable work.
