Seven artists from Atelier VàV present new works alongside three loans from the collections of IAC, Urdla and MLIS. Borrowing / Belonging explores artistic creation through transmission, shared histories and collective practices.
Borrowing / Belonging brings together the seven artists of Atelier VàV with three works by Marcia Hafif, Sol LeWitt and Martine Neddam, generously loaned by IAC, Urdla and MLIS.
Considering borrowing as a gesture of recognition, transmission and collaboration, the exhibition reflects on how artistic practices are shaped through inherited works, shared influences and collective experience. Newly commissioned works by the members of Atelier VàV enter into dialogue with these loans, creating exchanges across generations, media and institutions.
Since 2017, Atelier VàV has fostered a collective practice based on experimentation, shared making and the permeability between studio and exhibition space.
