Footnotes

The project Footnotes is a co-production initiated by the CAB Centre d’Art Bastille in Grenoble and the Fundació Joan Brossa in Barcelona, with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull. It takes the form of a trilogy in three chapters, conceived not as a traveling exhibition, but as a research device grounded in a shared conceptual framework that unfolds specifically within each context. Each chapter activates a different dimension of the project.

At CAB in Grenoble, the research focuses on the relationship between body, space, and architecture, paying particular attention to the staircase as both structure and spatial experience. At the Fundació Brossa, the project shifts toward a more poetic and performative dimension, emphasizing gesture, action, and the symbolic dimension of the body in relation to language. The third exhibition space—currently being sought—is envisioned as a site where this research can articulate a mid-career review of the artist Eulàlia Rovira, allowing recent works to be reread within this new conceptual constellation.

It is therefore not about repeating an exhibition in different venues, but about generating three autonomous configurations that share the same theoretical and material core, progressively expanding their scope.

Footnotes is conceived as an expanding device: three contexts, one shared conceptual base, and three different ways of activating it. The third space would not close the trilogy, but rather extend it, situating the research within a mid-term perspective and future projection.
