Ghosted by...

Ghosted by... explores how contemporary capitalism transforms emotions into a productive force. In the art world, where passion is often confused with professional commitment, the artist becomes a worker whose desires, relationships and availability constitute an economic resource. Drawing on the history of feminist, trade union and collective struggles, the exhibition examines a central contradiction: how can a system founded on the promise of emancipation through creation produce forms of attachment that perpetuate precariousness?

Ghosted by... does not treat ‘ghosting’ as merely a symptom of contemporary relationships, but as the current manifestation of an older history: that of techniques of erasure, through which societies organise the visibility of individuals, bodies and narratives – becoming less a behaviour than a regime of power.

The title remains deliberately incomplete. The three dots open up a space for interpretation rather than pointing to a single culprit. Ghosted by capitalism. Ghosted by love. Ghosted by history. Ghosted by institutions... This suspended sentence invites us to consider that contemporary forms of disappearance never stem from a single cause, but from the intertwining of economic, political, emotional and symbolic regimes that determine who has the right to appear, to be heard, to leave a trace.
