Les Étincelantes invites seven contemporary artists to create original works within a protected natural area of the Parc des Oiseaux. Blending art, landscape and biodiversity, this immersive trail offers a new perspective on birds and their environment, extending a hand between art and nature.

With Les Étincelantes, Parc des Oiseaux presents a unique encounter between contemporary art and nature. Nestled in the heart of the Dombes region, a landscape shaped by its thousand ponds and renowned for its exceptional biodiversity, the Park has invited seven contemporary artists to create original works in dialogue with this remarkable environment.

Set within a two-hectare protected natural area, exceptionally reopened to the public after nearly twenty years, this 700-metre art trail transforms nature into far more than a backdrop: it becomes the very material of creation. Sculptures, drawings, installations and photographs are woven into the landscape, inviting visitors on a sensory journey where contemplation, imagination and emotion converge.

The bird—an enduring symbol of both freedom and fragility—runs like a thread throughout the exhibition. Long a source of artistic inspiration, it has also become a powerful indicator of the state of our environment. Les Étincelantes offers a renewed perspective on the living world, where contemporary creation and biodiversity engage in a shared sensory experience.

The exhibition is curated by Fanny Robin (Bullukian Foundation), who has brought together seven artists from diverse backgrounds and disciplines around a common ambition: to create site-specific works that reveal both the identity of the territory and our relationship with nature. Visitors are no longer mere spectators; they become participants in an immersive experience where art and landscape respond to one another, inspiring wonder and fostering a deeper awareness of the living world.
