Élodie Lefebvre creates a sensitive space that reflects the artistic residency “Lyon - If I Were Your Mirror”, held in the palliative care units of Lyon’s Hospices Civils. Patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals and artists explore “Being Alive” together. Art, care and human experiences meet.

The exhibition Lyon - If I were your mirror is a highlight of a three-year artistic residency at the Hospices Civils de Lyon. Led by artist Élodie Lefebvre, the project was developed within palliative care units, bringing together patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals through a shared creative process.

From a simple and essential question “What is your wish?” the artist invited each participant to imagine an artistic proposal and contribute to a collective cinematic work. This process brought out unique stories, memories, desires and human connections, revealing the richness of lived experiences and the present moment.

Designed as an archive exhibition, If I were your irror presents the films created as well as the sensitive traces of the creative process: drawings, texts, objects, fragments of exchanges and workshop elements. These testimonies reveal the encounters that shaped the project.

« If I were your mirror » is a sensitive, illuminating and universal work that invites us to rethink our relationship with death. Without denying its gravity, it makes room for desire, opening a space for hope.
