From 5 September to 31 October 2026, Ana Jikia and Gaia Vincensini present a new exhibition at In extenso. In the lead-up to the exhibition, the artists will be in residence from July to September at Chalet Lecoq, hosted by the City of Clermont-Ferrand, where they will produce new works. In this exhibition, the house becomes a starting point for thinking about artistic life as an ecology of relationships— between people, objects, economies, texts, and affects.

Between 2023 and 2024, Ana Jikia and Gaia Vicensini lived and worked together for a year in Basel, in a shared house and project space called Housy. The house functioned simultaneously as a home, a workplace, and an informal exhibition space.

For a year, it hosted the programme of the off-space Courtney Jager, as well as off-site gallery projects during Art Basel, such as Suvatne Erikovic, while also serving as a place of arrival and temporary refuge for artists passing through the city. The building has since been demolished. What remains is not an archive in the conventional sense, but the residue of a collective situation—something closer to an atmosphere or a shared psychic landscape: temporary, fragile, and profoundly formative.

The project builds upon this residue. Rather than reconstructing the space as a stable object of memory, Jikia and Vicensini approach it as a constellation of experiences, fragments, and traces that continue to circulate between them. In this sense, the house can be understood less as a place than as a form of assemblage: a provisional configuration of bodies, materials, conversations, economies, and desires that briefly came into alignment before dispersing once again.
