In resonance with 18th LYON contemporary biennale, Claudie LENZI for the Gallery le 116art has chosen to present natural shape, that of the tomato, whose fleeting delicacy concentrates the organic fragility of the skin. Red for the eyes, red for the mouth, the tomato is basically made of water , just like human body.
Bloody and fleshy, protected by a thin and delicate skin, the tomato represents a miniature model of our state of being .”Peaux cibles” is an installation which through a play of reflections, words and objects, denounces , not without a certain irony, the natural degradations and criminal assaults that affect our skin. Visual poetry, meticulously “gardened” by Claudie LENZI plays with the tomato and its images and also with the environmental challenges that worry the artist.
The bird language that she uses is not just gourmet it’s thoughtful with the mouth-watering tomato creating the saliva that is not only essential for eating but also for forming words . “Peaux sens cible “plant” physics experiments that are not always fun, epidermal metaphors, dehydrated sequences, to bear witness to how nature is oppressed and beings are crushed in today’s world.
The exhibition at gallery le 116art renews the still life thanks through interplays of a living language and contemporary art. “ Peaux sens cible”, a concentration of meaning that you can touch, read aloud, or observe in silence.
Claudie LENZI, contemporary visual artist, novelist is graduated from the Marseille School of Fine Arts. She lives and works in BARJOLS ( VAR FRANCE). She is joint director of “Plaine Page” publishing.
