With Somnographic Atlas, the choreographer Wang Xuanqi explores the links between nocturnal imaginaries, everyday gestures and interactions between people, objects and environments. She is presenting her research at CN D as part of the "Plateau / 舞 所 不 在" program of the French Embassy in China.
With her research project entitled Somnographic Atlas, the Chinese choreographer Wang Xuanqi wishes to “decode how nocturnal imaginaries sculpt our waking kinetics” based on four axes: the "archaeology" of quotidian gesture based on Franco-Chinese research and analysis, the "somnographic" transmission through its own methodology of archiving and documentation, the democratized corporalities (according to Jérôme Bel) with a non-dancer audience and the use of Contact Improvisation as social choreography.
