In this vibrant work with epic sweep by Mozambican choreographer Idio Chichava, dance and song combine to celebrate migration as a quest for identity and an act of survival.
Inspired by the ritual dances of the Mkondé ethnic group, 13 dancers’ intense and repetitive gestures embody resistance and rebirth. To gospel and contemporary music, they explore collective energy, the memory of origins and the power of sharing as a community, telling stories of universal reach. A powerful and deeply emotive experience.
