Biography
Julien Discrit trained as a geographer. He investigates the representation of space, whether real or imaginary,
through a wide range of media — sculpture, installation, video, photography and painting. Inspired by
geomorphology and neuroscience,
his work seeks to describe physical or biological mechanisms, as well as to
reflect on their visual representation. Often relative or fragmentary, his depictions explore the relationship between
human beings and their environment, addressing the relationship between the visible and the hidden, and invoking
both collective and personal memory.
