Biography

Wanderings, chance meetings, losing one's way, self-creation and adaptation are some of the themes that run through Matthias Odin's work. The artist often draws on his own life and day-to-day experiences to explore what people have in common and what it means to be "us". Swept along by chance and the urban flow, he allows himself to fall into friendships along the way. He keeps souvenirs of these encounters — scraps of existence that get incorporated into his sculptures, assemblages and installations.
