Founded in 1977, the Groupe Art Contemporain (GAC) establishes a link between cultural identities and contemporary creation.

This production and dissemination center offers a demanding program, supports artistic production, and publishes prints. Above all, it is a space for experimentation and research where established and emerging artists freely explore their practices.

Its art lending library of 970 prints circulates among schools, associations, businesses, and individuals. As a partner in arts education, the GAC develops cultural initiatives from preschool to higher education, allowing everyone to discover unique artistic worlds.

Michel Pagnoux paints in layers, reworkings, erasures. Within this rigorous repetition lies a quest for balance between memory and emergence. Repetition deepens meaning, revealing the vibrant essence of the gesture (Julia Kristeva). To paint is to begin again in order to see more clearly. To persist in order to capture the still-vibrant trace of the gaze.
