L'Alcove is a hybrid space dedicated to contemporary art, bringing together an exhibition venue and studios for resident artists. Located in the heart of the Pentes de la Croix-Rousse district since 2015, it is run as a non-profit association by a collective of nine artists and a cultural mediator, who collaboratively manage, organize, and animate the space.

Open year-round, the exhibition space hosts a regularly renewed program featuring both solo and group exhibitions. The work of resident artists is presented alongside that of invited artists, fostering dialogue between contemporary artistic practices and encouraging exchanges with diverse audiences. This program reflects L'Alcove's commitment to supporting emerging artists and promoting the dissemination of contemporary art.

L'Alcove also serves as an artist residency, providing Lyon-based artists with studio spaces where they can freely develop their projects. In addition, the resident artists share their expertise through classes, workshops, and public courses, making the venue a place of both artistic creation and knowledge transmission.

Conceived as a laboratory for artistic experimentation and expression, L'Alcove embraces a wide range of practices, including painting, sculpture, photography, kirigami, drawing, installation, and mixed media. In doing so, it showcases the richness and diversity of Lyon's contemporary art scene.
