Address

1 Pl. de l'Hôpital,
69002 Lyon

The origins of the Grand Hôtel Dieu date back to the 12th century. It was the first hospital built to welcome and treat the most destitute patients: pilgrims, beggars and orphans. Over the centuries, during periods of epidemics and wars, the hospital was enlarged and rebuilt, but did not stray from its original vocation of providing care to all.
