Opening "Tenir debout" - Zohreh Zavareh

Zohreh Zavreh creates with words as well as with images and shapes. She borrows from the theatrical method of scriptwriting, decor and staging. Her eclectic practice finds its unity in the situation she chooses to present in each of her exhibitions. The visitor plunges into a poetic and suspended universe, populated by objects - sometimes familiar, sometimes enigmatic - reassuring signs or “feel-good” mantras.
The volumes, often on the scale of the palm of our hand, come to life thanks to the gaze or the gesture of the spectator. In this discreet and fragile universe, the artist puts into perspective the roles usually attributed to the living and the inert, to the conscious beings and the inanimate things.

Tenir Debout [Standing] is a project that arises from the desire to present an ambiguous condition where the objects are the characters and where the bodies disappear into the decor.
In French, the title suggests the effort to stand on one's feet, to resist and - in its figurative sense - qualifies an affirmation, a logical and valid reasoning, which can however fall into nonsense.
The issues of the absurd and the truth, of physical strength and action, but also of a meditative state of mind will arise in the show.
The artist's works will compose a sensitive and delicate journey whose details need to be discover with patience and attention. The exhibition is like an intimate narrative where our action will give life to unexpected characters.
