Marc Perez is a French sculptor painter, born in Tunis in 1955. Self-taught, he comes from a family of painters (Moses Levy, Nello Lévy). He lives and works in Paris.
Marc Perez participates in numerous personal exhibitions in France and abroad.

The work of the sculptor Marc Perez stands in balance between the journey of an explorer of the intimate and the almost metaphysical quest of an artist, between poetry, oneirism and psychoanalysis. It could be a cry, a call or a dream.
Like survivors of a huge earthquake, these sculptures have the dazzling effect of some visions, the power of resurrections. Mute or dancing characters at the very edge of a story that they cannot tell and that we will perhaps tell in their place. The world would have disappeared, there would have been a sinking or a catastrophe and they would be survivors.
They seem to be alone, even in pairs or in groups, often slightly out of balance or ready to take flight, but we can see that they are in fact well anchored. They protect this world that has been lost. They only have what they are carrying on their backs, this is what they show us. These books contain the trace of what they experienced, an infinite story contained in thousands of yellowed, burned pages, no doubt read and re-read, felt, commented on, abandoned, found and then saved. They want to testify, to tell a story.
Their history seems to weigh on them, but perhaps on the contrary, it is this weight that makes them light, sometimes able to meditate and wait, sometimes to have wings and become tightrope walkers or acrobats . They are captive beings who offer to see their liberation.
