For his first solo exhibition in France, Peruvian artist Arturo Kameya transforms the entire art centre through existing as well as a new body of work created specifically for the occasion. Paintings, objects, installations, and videos turn the exhibition space into an immersive environment inhabited by the ghosts of the past and the uncertainties of the present, where historical narratives, collective memory, and end-of-the-world imaginaries converge. When will the world end? In 2050? In 2030? Today? Two weeks ago? In 1492? Will it arrive as a sudden collapse or unfold through slow erosion? Is it a shared experience, or the fate of only a few? It depends on who you ask.

For many, the end of the world began five centuries ago. The apocalypse is not a catastrophe yet to come; it is already part of history. Time itself becomes a geography in which the past and the future are unevenly distributed.

Through paintings and objects rooted in the urban landscape of Lima, alongside video collaborations with Claudia Martínez Garay, Arturo Kameya reflects on what it means to "live in the future" when the promises of progress collide with the legacies of colonialism and the realities of the present. Grounded in the history of Peru and Latin America, his work unfolds narratives whose resonance extends far beyond their geographical origins, echoing global questions and shared contemporary concerns.
