A reflection on humanity
Bachir Hadji is a Franco-Algerian multidisciplinary artist. Graduate of the National School of Fine Arts in Constantine and of the National Higher School of Visual Arts in Lyon, he creates artworks deeply rooted in memory and materiality.
In his work, he brings to life and externalises truths buried in his memory, presenting a multitude of situations and elements from his own life experience and the wider world. Donkeys, people, faces and illegible writing. Bachir Hadji is cited by Xavier Xuriguera in his book A Look at Contemporary Sculpture as one of the leading figures in the field.
Another of our artists, Zlatko Glamotchak, originally from Montenegro, is also mentioned in this book.
