18 September 2026. Meet at 6.00 pm at the Salle de bains.

Inspired by J. L. Austin’s seminal text on the performativity of language, How to Do Things with Words (translated into French as Quand dire, c’est faire), How to Do Things with Typefaces? aims to spark a discussion on the new relationships between typography and queer identity.

The event will begin with a performative guided tour of the exhibition, during which Francesc Ruiz will stage a dialogue with the letter ‘b’ in front of the mirror in La Salle de bains, the work that inspired the BDPD exhibition. This short performance will serve as a starting point for a discussion on recent developments in inclusive writing and typography between Marguerin Le Louvier (poet, performer and co-founder of Éditions Douteuses), Joseph Belletante (director of the Musée de l’Imprimerie et de la Communication graphique) and the artist.

La Salle de bains pays close attention to all its visitors: for this reason, we would like to point out that some of the images on display in the ‘BDPD’ exhibition are not suitable for young visitors.
