Join us to celebrate the launch of the new CAP Art Library and its Vélothèque - a mobile bicycle-based art lending station - in the presence of the designers behind the project!

In 2026, the CAP • Saint-Fons Art Centre and Artothèque celebrate their 40th anniversary with a double challenge: creating a mobile structure for the artothèque while reimagining its reception and artwork storage spaces. Join us to discover the new Art Library and its Vélothèque, in the presence of the designers behind both projects.

Meet architect and designer Mattia Paco Rizzi, winner of the open call to design the Vélothèque: a mobile, travelling structure created to bring contemporary art closer to people's everyday lives. Or simply let yourself be surprised by this unusual, animal-like object that opens like a Russian nesting doll to reveal a collection of artworks.

Discover as well the Art Library's newly redesigned spaces by architect and designer Charles Herrou. He will present the new exhibition, consultation and storage areas for a collection of more than 900 artworks available to borrow. Guided by the CAP team, you'll even have the opportunity to leave with an artwork of your own. The event will conclude with drinks in the Art Centre's inner garden.

This project is supported by the Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap) as part of the "Artothèques en ruralités" programme.
