Eclats d’Ombre

Éclats d'Ombre, an exhibition that brings together two artists, photographer Jean-Baptiste Martin and ceramist Nadine Bell. We have chosen to present two of our artists who could be poles apart from each other, but who, in reality, come together in their rigorous research work, in their thematic approach, in their immediately perceptible complementarity, whether with the material, the masses, the shadows or their play with light.

By playing with the material,... , the masses, the shadows and sometimes barely any light, Jean-Baptiste Martin speaks of reality, of a disintegrated reality in a cleverly orchestrated process. He speaks of this promised light and this omnipresent shadow. And if Nadine Bell favors paper porcelain - a fusion between traditional clay and paper fibers. - As the main medium, it’s because it allows him to explore the notions of fragility and permanence.

Bringing together two artists so far apart was a gamble. We wanted to take it and thus a new dialogue was born.

The gallery L'ŒIL ÉCOUTE is used to "making" dialogues between works, artists and places. She made her own the development of links between painters, sculptors, engravers, writers, musicians, photographers, filmmakers, authors... which are enriched by their connections, confrontations, and complementarities.

It is this transversal approach that guides the work we carry out.
