Between Fabric and Plant explores the connections between memory, migration, and the materiality of historic linen textiles. Drawing on research into fabrics made in Ukraine by the artist’s family more than a century ago, Eugenia Reznik investigates their ability to maintain a tangible connection to places of origin.
By weaving together family narratives, textile knowledge, and scientific analysis, the artist reveals how these fabrics still retain traces of the flax plant from which they were made. The textiles emerge as silent witnesses to histories of displacement, transmission, and belonging, carrying within their fibers the memory of both people and landscapes across time.
