At the intersection of art, science, ethnobotany and postcolonial studies, LES VOYAGEUSES is a transdisciplinary project unfolding as an archipelagic constellation of exhibitions, conferences, artist residencies, performances, and other public programmes.
Artists and researchers from both local and international contexts explore the migratory movements of human populations in relation to those of plants. Whether occurring naturally or driven by human activity, plant migration shares many of the challenges and dynamics associated with human displacement: adaptation to new environments, cultural and biological exchange, and economic, ecological, and social impacts. Through a variety of media—including installations, photography, video, sculpture, and performance—the invited artists examine these complex dynamics. In doing so, LES VOYAGEUSES weaves a sensitive dialogue between human and plant worlds, inviting audiences to reconsider our relationships with living beings and migration through an artistic, scientific, and deeply interconnected approach.
