Through the khoustka, the traditional Ukrainian shawl, Eugenia Reznik and Alex Reznik weave together music, stories, and gestures. A poetic performance exploring memory, transmission, and identity.

This 30-minute performance is a journey through memory, exile, and transmission, carried by the symbolism of the khoustka, the traditional Ukrainian headscarf. Blending personal storytelling, oud melodies, traditional Ukrainian songs, and drawing, it brings to life the landscapes of a childhood in Ukraine and the paths of exile. By weaving connections between the floral patterns of the scarves and the flowers of family gardens, the khoustkasbecome symbols of attachment to lands left behind and of the search for new roots. The sound of the oud opens a space of resonance with other cultures and other stories of displacement. Gradually, the fringes of the khoustka and the strings of the instrument intertwine like threads of memory, weaving together a new place to belong.
