Palestinian photojournalist Fatma Hassona has documented life in Gaza since the start of the Israeli offensive in October 2023. Her work records forced displacement, the destruction of infrastructure caused by bombardment, civilian casualties, funerals, and moments of resilience.
In collaboration with the Culture Palestine Association, Bleu du Ciel presents an exhibition of photographs taken by Palestinian photojournalist Fatma Hassona in Gaza during the spring and summer of 2024.
At a time when foreign journalists were barred from entering Gaza, Hassona shared her work with filmmaker Sepideh Farsi, who was making a documentary about the lives of Gaza's residents through her eyes. Tragically, Fatma Hassona never saw the completed film. She was killed in a targeted attack in April 2025, along with nearly all of her family.
“She was extraordinarily talented, with a truly distinctive eye. I could feel that intensity when she spoke about documenting the Israeli bombardments, which targeted civilians and journalists alike, and about raising awareness of what she described as the ongoing genocide,” recalls Sepideh Farsi.

On the occasion of Fatma Hassona’s exhibition The Eye of Gaza, Bleu du Ciel is partnering with the ERAP collective to present a screening of Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk, followed by a discussion with filmmaker Sepideh Farsi.
