The exhibition Forms of the attention brings together ten artists : five artists teaching at Ensba Lyon are inviting five artists from the same school. Rather than gathering these artists around a single theme, the exhibition chooses to highlight the diversity of ways to approach photography today.
Forms of the attention is an exhibition labeled by the Ministry of Culture as part of the Bicentenary of photography, bringing together ten artists. Five artists teaching at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon—Fanny Béguery, Julien Guinand, Guillaume Janot, Amandine Mohamed-Delaporte, and Pascal Poulain—are each inviting an artist from the same school: Valentin Derom, Charlotte Vignes, Anaëlle Vanel, Marine Leleu and Anne-Lise Seusse.
Rather than gathering these artists around a single theme, the exhibition highlights the richness and diversity of ways to approach photography today. The ten practices presented dialogue with the many forms this medium has taken since its invention. Not all artists define themselves as photographers, but photography occupies a central place in everyone·s work. She nourishes their relationship with volume, writing, editing or drawing; sometimes she comes to the forefront of their work, sometimes in retreat. What unites them is the singular attention they give him.
The exhibition also addresses, between the lines, the question of transmission within an art school.
