Created in 1876, the prix de Paris is the most prestigious award of the École des beaux-arts de Lyon. This exhibition invites you to discover the works created for the occasion by very young graduates in DNSEP/Master Art of the School while exploring the heritage site of the Ensba.

The prix de Paris is the most important and oldest distinction of the Ensba Lyon. It was created in 1876. Originally, it allowed the laureate to pursue studies at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris and thus benefit from the artistic emulation of the capital.

At its inception, the Prix de Paris was to the École des Beaux-Arts de Lyon what the Prix de Rome was to the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris – a recognition, a passport, a distinction.

The prix de Paris, in collaboration with the Cité internationale des arts in Paris is awarded every year in September by a qualified jury to a young artist who has just graduated from Ensba Lyon, after five years of study. This award entitles today to the enjoyment of a studio-accommodation at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris for a period of one year and to a research grant.
