The exhibition "La Ronde de nuit" envisions a space where the preservation of living things and sculpture engage in dialogue. On the SVP site, two luminous works keep watch, active day and night, linking their own evolution to that of the plant life and blending gently into the landscape.
things and that of the visual arts. By occupying the grounds of the Société Protectrice des Végétaux (SPV)—an organization dedicated to plant rescue—artists Simon Feydieu and Sébastien Schnyder (permanent residents of the Lamezz studio in Pierre-Bénite) propose linking the future of their artworks to that of the rescued plants. This outdoor installation is not conceived as a static exhibition, but rather as a genuine period of placement and reception. The aim is to create an organic dialogue in which sculpture temporarily coexists with plants in transition.
The SPV offers a refuge to abandoned plants, restoring their visibility; placing the artworks—some of which are luminous—on this specific site allows them to engage with natural cycles and the site’s materiality. The project proposes a nocturnal activity, a vigil, and a gentle signal. In this landscape undergoing transformation, Simon Feydieu’s pieces—informed by the modern history of sculpture parks—and Sébastien Schnyder’s spatial structures—inspired by the sculptural nature of street furniture—become guests within the garden.
The public is thus invited to discover a hybrid ecosystem where art and horticulture share a common economy of resources and resilience, transforming the grounds of the Maison du Projet P.I.V.O. into a zone of latent visibility and shared preservation.
