Playground: The Test of Gender is a photographic exhibition by Tim Douet presented at the Domus Gallery from October 5, 2026, with the opening on October 7, 2026. Created as part of an artistic residency, this project explores the links between sport, body, gender and inclusion.
With "Playground – Tested by Gender," photographer Tim Douet offers a sensitive and documentary exploration of the links between sport, body, identity, and social representations. Presented at the Domus Gallery as part of Résonance, a program associated with the 2026 Lyon Contemporary Art Biennale, this exhibition is the culmination of a year-long residency at the UFR STAPS (Faculty of Sports Sciences) of Claude Bernard University Lyon 1.
The result of an extended immersion with students, faculty, university staff, athletes, and local stakeholders, the project examines the norms that permeate contemporary sports practices. Through portraits, scenes of daily life, symbolic objects, and photographs of spaces where sport is practiced, Tim Douet reveals the diversity of paths and experiences, while questioning notions of performance, visibility, inclusion, and gender.
