Through drawings, embroidery, fabrics and layered papers, Marie Lerch and Barbara Lerch explore the connections between memory, textiles and imagination. Drapery, folds and fragments become poetic landscapes inviting contemplation and daydreaming.

For their third artistic collaboration, textile designer Marie Lerch and visual artist Barbara Lerch present “Textile Mirages, Fragments of Apparitions.” This exhibition brings together a series of new works created collaboratively, combining drawing, embroidery, fabric and paper. Inspired by Lyon’s textile heritage and the history of the Canuts, the artists develop a sensitive exploration of drapery, folds and the memory held within materials. In partnership with the Maison des Canuts, they have gained access to ancestral know-how rooted in a shared collective history. Fabric remnants, paper fragments, threads and drawn lines overlap, giving rise to imagined worlds suspended between presence and disappearance. The works invite visitors on an inner journey where memories, identities, transmission and reverie intertwine. Exhibition presented as part of Résonance, echoing the 18th Lyon Biennale.
