Biography

Artist and filmmaker, Josefin Arnell develops narratives inspired by her personal experiences, situated at the boundary between fiction and reality. Through storytelling, she examines the social expectations that shape identities, particularly representations of femininity and the norms that govern bodies. In her films, where the absurd intertwines with the creation of hybrid figures, the artist explores the circulation of power, desire, and labour within contemporary culture, while revealing the forms of violence that structure everyday life and within which her characters attempt to exist.
