Biography

Sriwhana Spong works across film, performance, and sculpture. Through observation, research, collaboration, and material experimentation, her work approaches a subject from multiple positions, allowing meaning to emerge through relation. Engaging scientific, literary, and embodied forms of knowledge, Spong transforms materials drawn from everyday life through process such as staining, dyeing, and accumulation. These material transformations become a means of considering how worlds are authored, and how value, belief, and inheritance are continually negotiated and remade.
