Established in 1949, the États-Unis community center was originally located within the Tony Garnier housing estate, which dates back to the 1930s. It moved to its current site in 1952. A second phase of the neighborhood was emerging to the south, separated from the "Vieux États" area by the market square. It is at the heart of this new development that the community center focuses its activities, serving as a link, a meeting place, and a crossroads connecting the various areas and their residents.
