Since its creation in August 2019, le basculeur has been a place dedicated to contemporary creation and committed to:

  • exhibition (production & distribution)
  • publishing (thanks to le basculeur's publishing house "Contrepoids")
  • distribution of co-founder Marc Chopy's works

Artists' works and distribution

Le basculeur puts a great emphasis on inclusivity, following strict equity rules within its artistic programmation: ages, genre and ethnicity.

Among our missions is also the suport of creators, especially young graduates, by offering them the chance to display their works in a professional art center and to tie parternships with more experienced artists. All of which being aimed to convoke and create encounters between artists from various backgrounds.

"Les songes de la trame“ brings together around thirty recent paintings and works on paper by Liliane Tomasko (b. 1967 in Zurich, lives and works in new York) at Le Corbusier’s Couvent Sainte-Marie de La Tourette. Set within the iconic modernist monastery, the exhibition explores the relationship between abstraction, architecture, and spirituality.

The "conference on le basculeur", a reading-performance taken from an old drawing book, will be given for the first time by the artist during the finishing.

To sweat - Rocking-Chair#8

The fifth exhibition of the 2026 will be the annual exhibition of autumn: to sweat.

Two artists and a collective are invited to create an original piece in the newspaper Rocking-Chair#8 as well as to participate in an exhibition. The two productions are closely linked. The publication of the newspaper takes place on the day of the opening.
