"We question the sensitive and the transience of existence (material trace in clay and photos on tree leaves). Seize the present to stem the future as it is announced."
A duo exhibition by two residents of Gamut, presented in the underground galleries of the Bastion Saint-Just.

2171, behind a crumbling wall, an underground reveals traces of the ancient carbon civilization. Equipped with lamps and surrounded by candles, everyone is invited to discover the installation. The works presented echo the last 150 years preceding this discovery. Jérôme Dupré La Tour and Fabien Collini explore our relationship to time, prompting visitors to ask questions about a dystopia to come.

Fabien Collini will present his chlorophyll prints on tree leaves, timeless traces of our human destinies in the face of the transformations that occur. Jérôme Dupré la Tour will present his clay prints, proofs of a present time revealing a past to come, an expansion of universal timers by new clocks, poetic, conceptual and concrete.

The artistic intention of the tandem is a proposal to weave links between the works.
Through all of these imaginary narratives, the installation questions the creation of the historical narrative in the light of the vestiges that we will leave behind. After walking through the installation, everyone is invited to write their own story. Will all of these stories make history? How is art a vector for the construction of our memories? Both members of the Lamartine artistic wasteland, Fabien Collini and Jérôme Dupré la Tour, created this installation during a joint residency at Gamut.

REPERI is the present imperative of the Latin verb reperio: To recognize (after examination), to find (in such or such a state), to discover, to see, to observe, to learn.
