Between drawing and sculpture, the exhibition Sleep by Yoann Estevenin at Point Commun, in collaboration with the artist residency Moly Sabata/Albert Gleizes Foundation, offers a dreamlike journey around artworks with hybrid and fantasized forms, between imagination and reference to our dreams.

Between drawing and sculpture Yoann Estevenin develops a mixed practice. Ceramics, wrought iron, bronze, engraving are all techniques that he mixes in his artworks. Interested in matter, textures and colors, the artist experiments, confronts non-standard papers, works the drawing on wood using his pastels and sometimes make-up powders, pigments. Sculpture and drawing are complementary; he likes to speak in his recent works of drawn sculptures or carved drawings. His disturbing and attractive universe explores the dark and esoteric side of thought. It evokes as much the world of dreams and its descent into the unconscious, as the world of performance and staging.
From collected images of body postures, expressions, objects, Yoann Estevenin creates hybrid beings both strange and flamboyant that he dresses, makes up, adorns with jewelry.
He seeks to develop an atmosphere more than a story, delivering his characters to us in an in-between, in tension.

The exhibition Sleep at Point Commun, in collaboration with the artist residency Moly Sabata/Fondation Albert Gleizes, offers a dreamlike journey around artworks with hybrid and fantasized forms, between imagination and reference to the image of our unconscious dreams. Drawing and sculpture will come together in situ, sometimes merging in different forms in new artworks, some of which will be produced during the residency.
