The works of kennedy+swan combine virtual-reality and video techniques to think about evolution and its consequences on humans, animals and plants. Delphi Demons, a stereoscopic film in three episodes, explores the concept of intelligence, which is wrongly thought of as specifically human and denied to other living things. Delphi Demons dismantles the false supremacy of human intelligence: Max Frisch and the language AI GPT-3 have an emotional conversation, the popular image generation AI app Wombo distorts reality in the form of an all knowing oracle, and the double of a famous singer preaches why the human part of a brain-computer interface is the superfluous one. In Morning Routine, kennedy+swan asked the artificial intelligence GPT-3 to write the manifesto of fragility in eleven sentences. While we read these phrases, we observe the simulated character Circe through a semi-transparent mirror during her morning routine. This seemingly incidental scenario raises the question of what agenda self-aware artificial avatars will have in our near future. Using various animation techniques like animated drawings, 3D-scanned landscapes, and handbuilt sculptures, kennedy+swan confront us with different forms of intelligence and test the IQ of the audience itself.
