Across Fields is a project conceived by Fanny Maugey, in partnership with the Lyon University Hospital and the macLYON. Developed as part of the Culture and Health programme, the project was carried out with patients receiving care at Croix-Rousse Hospital and Lyon Sud Hospital.

Visual artist Fanny Maugey creates spaces for encounter where artistic practice is rooted in sensory experience.

Through a series of workshops combining visual arts, creative writing, culinary experimentation and sound recording, participants were invited to explore the connections between sensation, memory and the perception of time.

Blind tastings, monotypes, embossing, work with wax, weaving, and sound recordings became parallel pathways through the participants’ care journeys and lived experiences, offering ways to evoke what endures, what fades, and what deserves to be preserved.

Located in the macROOM at macLYON, the space where part of the workshops took place, the presentation brings together traces of this collective journey. Images, impressions, texts, objects and a sound work give form to an artistic experience in which personal memory and shared experience converge.

This project is supported by the Culture and Health programme and is presented in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Admission to the macROOM is free upon registration from 7 to 17 October 2026.
