: Die Lampe, a new solo project by sound artist and musician Christoph Rothmeier, performs live in a minimalist setting composed of small electronic accessories, theremin and hand percussion.
Imagine this: you're walking past the window of the Groupe Art Contemporain (GAC) and you see a lone musician with a theremin, some small electronic gadgets, and percussion. He's playing. It's strange, it grooves, it's absurd.
It's Die Lampe, the solo project of Christoph Rothmeier, a Berlin-based musician and sound artist who also works in Sauviat, in the Ardèche region of France.
Die Lampe invents "blurred scenarios": an absurd journey through an imaginary living room. The sound blends postexotica, dubby electronica, dreamlike home organs, and headbanging. It's funny, it's hypnotic, it's completely offbeat.
And the concert will take place in the GAC's window. Not in a traditional concert hall. No. In the window. Outside and inside at the same time. An unexpected venue for unexpected music.
Christoph Rothmeier had already shown his work at the GAC in 2024: an interactive box where visitors entered and were guided by a voice. He will be back with Die Lampe.
To be seen (and heard) this autumn 2026.
